INDIANS AND ESKIMOS, explorers and fur traders, Vikings, French and English, soldiers and farmers all move through the pages of this book, bringing the story of Canada to life for readers of all ages.

All three titles will assist beginning readers to learn the fundamentals of literacy while learning about the country in which they reside.

Karin Moorhouse was born of Swedish parents in England and educated there and in Switzerland. She worked for a few years in Paris and for a short time in Poland. Then she married and came to Canada with her husband. They lived for the first five years in Toronto, where they became involved with Andrew Allan's early radio drama. Then they moved to Montreal where they started a young family. There she was a founding member of a still flourishing theatre group and of a literary group responsible for the creation of the Pointe Claire public library. Karin also wrote and narrated a short history series for children for CBC television called 'Once upon a Country.' She has three children of her own who are now grown-up.
