Tony Cosier praises the human ties that make for lasting integrity in a constantly changing world. The opening section watches humanity pondering on "Natural Things" — the flight of a hawk over a hayfield, pounding waves on a seacliff, stones of a church whitening in a snowsquall, always with an eye for the intensity of the moment. "Saw Music" pays homage to the creative spirit in the lives of musicians, artists and poets. "Playwright", a suite of connected free verse narratives, follows the life of the Irish dramatist John Millington Synge. "My Mother's Dance" reflects on the author's own boyhood in Victoria, British Columbia, emphasizing the deep bonds that prevail across the years in his closely knitted family.

Author

Tony Cosier is widely published in literary magazines and anthologies nationally and internationally. He is the author of eight volumes of poetry, three plays and Ensemble, a book of short stories. Now retired and living in Ottawa, Tony Cosier is originally from British Columbia, and taught English at Confederation High School in Ottawa for most of his teaching career.
